“Authenticity,” “accountability” and “commitment” aren’t just words to Michelle Beauchamp: those qualities are apparent in every interaction she has.
Spend just a few minutes with Michelle Beauchamp, and you’ll see that she truly cares. Her passion in life is helping people grow and unleash their “inner champ.” That’s why she started The Champ Group. “I get excited when I see people changing their mindsets, creating new actions, and getting different results,” she says with conviction.
“When they are frustrated,” says Michelle of her clients. “I’ll work with them—and things change. I love contributing to their growth!” she says, her voice revealing her pleasure and excitement. “My goal is to make a difference for others.” That’s the reason she added online classes and a virtual Mastermind group to her service offerings. “I want to expand beyond this geography. I don’t want to limit myself to do in-person events. This way I can reach more people.”
Michelle’s giving personality underlines her success at everything from sales training to coaching individuals and teams in leadership, speaking and team effectiveness.
She’s more than proved herself: In 2017, her Spectrum Reach (formerly Time Warner) sales team was the number one office in Los Angeles (Time-Warner’s biggest market), exceeding budget by more than 25 percent and growing prior year sales by more than 26 percent.
She works with both individuals and companies. “I bring a lot of variety and experience. I’ve been in the shoes of both entrepreneurs and the corporate workforce.”
But, she boldly states, “I may not be right for everybody.” She looks for individuals who are committed to personal growth and willing to invest in themselves, or corporate entities who realize the value of providing tools to their team on an ongoing basis.
Sometimes the company’s sales pipeline isn’t full enough; sometimes morale is down. “The management team is so busy that people are not collaborating – they are working in silos trying to get work done,” she says.
A longtime entrepreneur, Michelle’s first venture began as a hobby soon after college graduation-was selling work by black artists, an untapped market at the time. She discovered her passion for training after climbing the Mary Kay ladder to become a director, responsible for teaching and supporting the company’s consultants. The combination of these positions, and her role as a sales leader in Telecommunications, led to The Champ Group, with its focus on sales training, leadership coaching, mentoring and consulting.
Michelle is on the teaching faculty of Brandman University and the American Management Association. A lifelong learner, she earned her John Maxwell Team certification four years ago; she attended a weeklong business school at Wharton School of Business and numerous leadership programs. But the best leadership practice “is doing it,” she says. As a sales manager and leader, she’s learned to see the big picture, collaborate with peers and management, “and inspire people to become their best selves.”
She is committed to making a difference in the community as well. She finished her fifth consecutive Avon Walk for Cancer in Santa Barbara in September, walking 39.3 miles over two days. She is presently training for her second Susan G. Komen 3-day, 60-mile walk. She has served on the board of the Orange County chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO-OC) and as program chairman for the organization, organizing and emceeing the monthly networking dinner meetings. She is also a SUE Talk coach, advising Successful, Unstoppable, Empowering women (and men) on the creation and delivery of their twelve-minute lessons on life and business.
“I’m proud of who I am as a person,” Michelle says. “People believe they can count on me. That’s really important to me.”
